Hestercombe Gardens Wedding

"Jordanna was great fun to work with and immediately put us at ease in front of the camera. We are blown away with how great our photos are, she really captured the atmosphere of the day!"

Sophia & Khuram Super Colourful Wedding Photography at Hestercombe Gardens

Hestercombe Gardens Wedding // Today we’ve got Sophia and Khuram’s Hestercombe Gardens Wedding to swoon over. If you are planning a DIY wedding or simply a fellow colour lover then you are going to love this one.

Despite all the gorgeous details what made this wedding top shelf (not that kind *filth*) was the energy that Sophia and Khuram bought to their day. There are very few images without huge smiles and hands in the air. I spent the whole day smiling like a goon and had cheek ache by the end of it!

That energy came in handy when we had to trek 20 minutes up hill to their wedding ceremony! The ceremony was held in a small temple in the incredible, historical gardens of Hestercombe. Fortunately it was a gorgeous spot and the couple had told the guests about bringing sensible footwear so I didn’t hear one moan about the rather warm trek up.

The Ceremony within Hestercombe Gardens

The ceremony was sweet and laugh filled and ended with a surprise Mariachi Band appearing from the bushes to entertain the guests as the couple signed the register. The couple didn’t stop beaming all he way through. The sun was beating down but that didn’t stop the guests having a boogie either.

Anyone for Rounders?

I’ve had many couples in the past claim that they will play rounders either on the morning of the wedding or during the reception. It’s something many of my couples have fantasised about – it’s like a symbol of how chilled my couples are. Anyway until now it has never once happened! Anyway, I am sure Sophia and Khuram would tell you to go for it. The guests loved it and it filled a good hour whilst the Marachi Band still serenaded from the sidelines like cheerleaders.

And other than rounders they did all the usual things we do at weddings – throw confetti, laugh with our mates, listen to funny speeches, host a hilarious Mr & Mrs quiz (many of the shockingly gross answers I will never be able to unlearn – readers I will spare you the details!), eat fabulous food and dance the night away. It was a great day; I am so pleased to have met Sophia and Khuram. I will remember their day so fondly for many years to come.

Nestled in tranquil countryside and historical gardens it’s no wonder Hestercombe is one of the most idyllic wedding venues in Somerset. (Also Peep Show fans – you’ll have a great view of the Quantock Hills and we all know “No one get’s lost in the f**ing Quantocks, Jeremy!” Sorry couldn’t resist. :-D)

As a couple getting married at Hestercombe you’ll get access to the entire grounds during your big day. The Hestercombe Gardens Wedding team will want your wedding day to be the most special day of your lives, so when you book a wedding with them, you’ll be the only couple getting married at Hestercombe that day.

Hestercombe has the advantage of being able to hold your ceremony and party all in one location. Their friendly and accommodating team will work with you to make your special day truly unforgettable.

I absolutely love a colourful wedding and I would love to hear from you if you are a fellow colour lover!

“We really like Jordanna’s ability to capture genuinely joyous, funny and quirky expressions without them being hokey, staged or cheesy. It’s clear you don’t pose them. You’re able to coax a lot of happiness on your own, or at the very least are trigger-ready with impeccable timing.” Libby Peterson, New York Rangefinder Magazine
