Merriscourt Wedding Photography a laugh filled day for Megan & Tommy

A young, fun and relaxed wedding at Merriscourt
Merriscourt Wedding Photography // I thoroughly enjoyed shooting Megan and Tommy’s Merriscourt Wedding. Megan is such a card and her off the wall character had me chuckling along with her all day long. She didn’t seem to take any part of the day very seriously. Their laid back attitude really set the tone for the day for their guests to really relax, enjoy the unusually sunny day and have a great time.
Special mention from me must go to all the staff at Merriscourt too who were so friendly and helpful. High five you guys!
As this blog has taken me literally years to publish I’ll hand you over to Megan for her take on her Merriscourt Wedding day -=]==
Merriscourt was the perfect setting for us!
We had looked at a few locations for our wedding both of us knew we wanted something completely “us.” Tom saw there was a wedding fair and so we went along. When we got there we knew straight away we could let our family and friends loose here and there was something for everyone. It had such gorgeous views and spaces and the team there could help with everything we imagined!
I loved wearing a Jesus Peiro wedding dress with pockets!
I’m not the girliest of girls and having just had Phoebe 16 weeks before I needed something that wasn’t going to be uncomfortable. I absolutely loved having pockets in my dress. It gave my whole look a bit more sass. My shoes were a pair I’d had for years. I knew they would hold me upright (until the tequila kicked in) and were bright orange. There was no other pair of shoes I was wearing that day!
Classic Tux for Tom
Tom wore a traditional black tux with a waistcoat. He’s notoriously fussy so wanted something classic and simple that he could look back on in 20 years without laughing at himself!
The floral decoration at our Merriscourt Wedding
One of my bridesmaid’s aunties put together our flowers for us. I just asked Liz to create something completely different for me, some plain gyp for the bridesmaids and white roses for the groomsmen. I left her completely in charge of the centrepieces and she did so amazing!
We collected lots of bits and pieces from eBay/Facebook for decorations and then on the day left my very creative bridesmaids in charge to put it together. We had biscuit jars on the table for those that needed a snack in between courses!
My brother walked me down the aisle
My younger brother Rory gave me away in place of my late dad. Huge pride for him as he hates attention! We walked down the aisle to my dads favourite song van Morrison “Have I told you lately.”
Surprise in the form of Elvis!
Our first dance song was to Elvis, I’d scheduled an impersonator for Tom as a wedding present and he rocked it!
Wedded Wisdom
I’d probably do a few less tequila shots! Stick to your true self and what you want to do no matter what everyone else thinks or says. At the end of the day if you want to do the day over and over it’s been a success!
I’d love to hear from you if you are planning a Cotswold wedding – they are always so beautiful! Merriscourt was no exception!
