Awesome Winter Paradise by Way of Kensal Green Wedding
Paradise by Way of Kensal Green Wedding
Fantastic Paradise by Way of Kensal Green Wedding for Mel & Euan
Paradise by Way of Kensal Green Wedding // Mel and Euan’s wedding was truly special. Chilled, fun, a little bit glam and at a gorgeous/ bonkers/ eclectic venue – Paradise by Way of Kensal Green. I could happily shoot there again and again. It has a lot going on! We had sun, we had snow. Lots of colour and more dancing than you could shake a sh**ty stick at.
I’m going to shurrup now and leave you to some of their images. Mel and Euan you were totally ace – I loved getting to know you both very much. Best wishes and make sure you always keep smiling with those fantastic, open mouthed smiles!
“We chose Jordanna because of her style. That first conversation that I had with Jordanna put me right at ease. We felt really comfortable with her when we first met and seeing her on the day was like having another friend at the wedding. Thank you!”
Mel & Euan
Choosing a Paradise by Way of Kensal Green Wedding
Euan initially wanted it overseas and on our own. I initially wanted it in Scotland, where Euan is from and where it is oh so beautiful. We both agreed on London, when we realised we were not organised enough to have it too far away from where we live. I found The Paradise when looking for somewhere to go for Sunday lunch. It had the best reviews for it’s food and we discovered it had private function rooms too. After our lunch and a few drinks, we knew it was the right place for us. The building is so full of character, the food was amazing and the staff were so friendly. With that decided, we then looked for the nearest town hall and found that Marylebone was being re-furbished and in the meantime, Westminster were performing ceremonies at Asia House. There was no decision to make when we went to see it. What a beautiful building and right in the centre of London. The two venues were totally different but both beautiful in their own way.
Selecting your Black Tie Outfits
I watched so much ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ (on purpose) confirming that I didn’t want a ‘wedding’ dress. We went to Harvey Nichols together, chose one that looked nice, I tried it on, Euan absolutely loved me in it so we bought it! Nice and easy. Euan is naturally a bit of a scruff so when he decided to wear a tuxedo, I couldn’t believe it! Didn’t he scrub up well! I returned to Harvey Nichs and bought my shoes and accessories. No messing about!
Flowers at the Venue
Neither venue needed decoration but we decided to dress the tables using a local florist, Scarlet and Violet, who were brilliant and sorted everything out for us. The one thing we really worked on was our save the date, invitation and place cards. We therefore used some classic Mills and Boon books as table decoration that could also entertain our guests.
The Ceremony at Asia House
Our ceremony was really simple. We entered the ceremony together. We got to choose from a set of vows prepared by the registrar and we chose, ‘On this Day’, which was perfect.
The Party
We had post wedding breakfast/pre-party hard entertainment. Daniel and David were booked through Sound Generation. They performed, singer and acoustic guitar, for two hours and were a total success. We and our guests could not sing their praises enough. Literally! During the two hours, our evening guests arrived, we got to mingle and chat with guests. We also got to sing along and dance as the atmosphere they created was so infectious. They really were a highlight and we hope to have reason to book them again.
Group Dance Off
We didn’t do a first dance but did a fantastic group dance to Cameo’s ‘Candy’. The electric slide is well known to my side of the family and we thought it would be great and about time that Euan’s side of the family learnt how to do it. With a couple of rewinds, we got a good rhythm going and a lot of people in sync. It was brilliant!
Wedded Wisdom
Don’t worry about things that no one cares about, like chair covers! Make sure you’re comfortable as it’s a long day. Get the food, drink and entertainment right and the day will be perfect.
