Rowton Castle Wedding

Apr 27, 2020

"Jordanna, you are amazing at what you do! Your use of colours and your documentary style really capture the day perfectly. Me and Luke have gained a friend in you and we cannot thank you enough for all you have done."

Fun packed wedding for the lovely Olivia & Luke at Rowton Castle

Rowton Castle Wedding // I have absolutely adored getting to know these two lovely Brummies who now live out in Dubai. They have genuinely become my pals and they are just the sweetest, generous couple you could ever wish to meet. I was totally thrilled when they asked me to be their Rowton Castle Wedding Photographer. I knew I the wedding would be full of characters, great music and lots of laughs – not all at Luke. God bless him!

It has been a shamefully long time since I shot this wedding…some thing just take a Global Pandemic to get round to, huh?! So after I have shared the images here you can read Olivia’s round up below. Hope you are all keeping well and staying sane!

Rowton Castle as a backdrop for your wedding

We knew we wanted somewhere in the countryside. As soon as we entered Rowton Castle, they were so attentive and understood that we live far away so they helped us out so much with everything. And who doesn’t want to get married in a castle?! Having a Rowton Castle Wedding was super special and our friends said the ceremony had real wow factor.

The civil ceremony at our Rowton Castle Wedding

Our ceremony was outside in the ”Linden Belvedere” and was really special moment getting married outside as we both thought it was going to rain! As soon as i started walking down the aisle the sun came out so that was a relief!

My mom walked me halfway down the aisle to meet my dad (who can’t walk very well) and then we walked down together.

Choice of dress much different than first imagined

I always thought i wanted a ballgown style dress, until i tried them on and realised i couldn’t really move (or boogie) in it! In the end I  went for comfort over anything else, as i knew i wanted to be able to dance the night away and not be uncomfortable! My dress was so light thanks to the tulle skirt.

A Ted Baker Checked Suit and Laboutins for the Groom

Luke looked super fly in his rather flamboyant checked suit from Ted Baker. And not to be outdone by Olivia’s choice of footwear Luke also treated himself to a pair of red sole Laboutin beauties. You’d think ll the eyes were on him or something?!

Northern Soul & Motown Party

Our friends are Motown / Northern Soul DJ’s and they offered to DJ on the evening. This could not have gone any better as everyone was up dancing the whole night.

For our first dance we swayed awkwardly to The Ramones – Baby I love you, straight into Beyonce – Love on Top. A little bit of Luke, a little bit of Liv! Nothing to lovey-dovey but still represents us both.

Wedded Wisdom

I would say – as cliche as it sounds – take everything in! The day goes by so quickly.

If you’d like to have a look at other weddings I have shot in Shropshire I suggest you check out this one at Walcot Hall – which was a real corker!
