Simple but Beautiful Engagement Shoot – Louise and Marcus
My little new year’s resolution – mantra if you like – was to keep things simple this year in everything I do.
So this means, for instance, spending more time with my son, husband and family free of distractions; eating simply and well; getting outside more; limiting time on social media which let’s face it is much of the time not very social/productive or positive at all; keeping in touch with old friends by picking up the old phone and having a chat and it goes on. Simplicity also plays a part in influencing my work too.
Louise and Marcus made the train journey to see me in Northamptonshire six weeks ahead of their Hampton Court House wedding. They didn’t really have any expectations and were nervous – as most people are…which may I add is totally fine!
I have had my eye on a piece of wasteland just around the corner from my home for oooo at least 2 years. When the sunsets on this wild patch the light is just amazing. So I told Louise and Marcus to wear shoes that they didn’t mind getting muddy and off we went – joking that I take my couples to all the poshest places.
It was a very grey evening but still the light was quite magical. I kept things simple by limiting myself to an area 5mx5m and by only using a 50mm lens.
I hope you’ll agree that the results are simple but beautiful – much like I hope 2015 will be.
