Axnoller Wedding

Axnoller Wedding // Man I don’t know what to write about this wedding. It was next level fun. I had massive face ache from all the laughing and smiling by the end of the day! And if ever I am in Aysha and Neil’s neck of the woods then I will most definitely be looking them up. I’ve already made them promise that I get to photograph every future occasion/ party for them from here on in.
I started shooting Aysha and her girls in bridal prep – she looked knock out despite taking down her hairdo that she’d paid a small fortune for in favour of a simple pony tail that she felt was more her. Good on her I say! Her Caroline Castigliano dress was modern and gorgeous. A dress with pockets always gets the big thumbs up from me.
The couple had planned for an outdoors ceremony and despite 2018 being the hottest year ever it decided to absolutely chuck it down with rain which again caused zero drama. Aysha was a little disappointed but still had a huge smile and I got the impression that absolutely nothing was going to stop these two and their fab army of friends and family having the best time. The staff at Axnoller also handled this change of plan in such a calm way – it was decided that they would get married in the marquee – so kind of outside – whilst quickly nipping inside to sign the marriage register.*
*which reminds me, all the laughing during the signing was because Neil was so nervous that he kept on mispronouncing his bride’s name. Oh the shame! 🙂
After the ceremony, drinks were served in the marquee before moving everyone to the industrial luxe party barn for food, speeches and dancing. Adam Masterton played his guitar during the cocktail hour which the kids rocked out to. The flowers provided by Penn Hill Flowers really glammed up the space but in a gloriously undone way and the food – mainly good hearty antipasti boards and dig in yourself desserts – was so delicious and good looking. 10/10 team!
The speeches really hit the sweet spot of funny, emotional and really quite touching. There were quite a few tears and big hugs from Neil’s friends. I honestly have never felt such a strong brotherly bond between a group of ushers – it was a lovely thing to be around.
The big surprise of the night was when, after only 15 seconds or so of awkward first dancing, a trio of Brazillian carnival style dancers burst in and that was the party well and truly started. The band were incredible. Beat Band UK do yourself a favour and go and book them now! They were definitely one of the best acts I have ever seen at a wedding – and the dancing led by the pro dancers was so much fun. Later, at the request of Aysha everyone had a go at Limbo – always a good idea for fun photos especially when everyone was as intoxicated as they were. The Father of the Bride going splat was a highlight 🙂
Late night pizza was provided for the party animals from the very lovely Wandering Pizza Co. Yum yum.
I loved every minute of this day and it has been a joy getting to know Aysha and Neil – they really are a very special pair.
Anyway I’ll quit the lovin’. Here’s some of my fave unposed wedding photos. Oh and PS No groomsmen were (long term) harmed in the group shots…

ABOUT ME
Random ramblings: I love a good crime drama although I get easily spooked. I still imagine THAT Luther mask when I nip to the loo at night. Arghghhhhh. Needless to say I haven’t ever watched many horror films and the thought of watching a Freddie film although (probably) terribly dated – well put it this way I’d rather walk through Hampstead Heath alone at night. ((NB: I’d hate to do both)) 😀
I studied photography at uni and shot my first wedding after a uni friend begged me to. I’m so glad I did I love my work – I feel very lucky to go to so many parties and be surrounded by ace people having the best time.
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer I’d love to hear from you so please drop me a line via my contact page.

“We really like Jordanna’s ability to capture genuinely joyous, funny and quirky expressions without them being hokey, staged or cheesy. It’s clear you don’t pose them. You’re able to coax a lot of happiness on your own, or at the very least are trigger-ready with impeccable timing.” Libby Peterson, New York Rangefinder Magazine
