GROUP SHOTS & CANDID MOMENTS
Group shots.
With a little planning there is no need to dread getting your family group shots done. We can get them done quickly and painlessly and keep Nan happy all at the same time.
Sometimes it’s best to get them done at the ceremony venue (especially urban weddings) but most of the time it’s best to do these at the reception when everyone’s had a drink (not after too many though, then you have a different problem).
I recommend keeping it to around eight group photos as the more time we spend on those, the less time there is for fun candid images and the longer you keep your guests from the party!
I like to work quickly and keep the shots quite informal and relaxed. Group shots don’t need to be boring or cheesy – there’s a middle ground!
Light is also pretty important for group shots. Direct sun overhead will result in everyone squinting and dark shadows under the eyes. I tend to move everyone to shade or even head inside, even if it’s “a lovely sunny day” outside.
In a nutshell, let’s keep the group shots short and sweet. You don’t want to miss the best party of your life.

Candid moments
Unposed, unscripted and totally awesome.
My main aim will be capturing the bits of your day that you might not see. SO MUCH happens on your wedding day and it’s impossible to see all of it, which is why you hire me.
I’ll be on the lookout for laughter, good times, dance-offs and all the funny little things that happen during the course of the day.
This is the crux of my coverage: it’s your friends having fun, your Mum getting squiffy, your best mate’s baby gurgling away at their first wedding. Everything, all the bits of ‘life’ that make up a very, very special day.
I could fill pages and pages and pages with these sorts of shots, but it’s probably best to see them on my blog.
In my book, the more real the wedding, the better the photos.
